Inauguration of the Ecclesiastic Faculty of Theology at St. Augustine's Seminary of Toronto
On August 27th and 28th, 2026, His Excellency Archbishop Carlo Maria Polvani, Secretary of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, attended the inauguration of the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Theology at St. Augustine's Seminary of Toronto.
After the welcome of Msgr. Roberto Nusca and opening prayer by Cardinal Frank Leo, Msgr. Carlo Maria Polvani conveyed to all those present — bishops, professors, staff, students, board members and invited ecumenical guests — the greetings of the Dicastery. Then, the panel discussion on the "Enduring Impact of Patristic Studies on Theology Today" started involving three Patristic scholars. The first day celebration concluded with the homily of Solemn Vespers for the Feast of St. Augustine, preached by Msgr. Polvani.
At the end of the visit, on Friday he highlighted the importance of ecclesiastical studies in the life of the Church during the luncheon banquet, which took place in the Arcadian Court Event Space.
