Mehak Verma Vieira, Directora e Fundadora da Jahmek Contemporary Art, uma plataforma dinâmica que promove um diálogo crítico e provocador sobre a expressão artística e visual em Angola. Criada em Luanda, a Jahmek foi fundada em 2012 com a visão de fortalecer a infraestrutura artística em Angola para a próxima geração. Ao longo dos últimos cinco anos, trabalhou com artistas emergentes e consagrados com ligações ao país, desenvolvendo um programa ambicioso de exposições, eventos, participações em feiras de arte e outras iniciativas. A sua liderança trouxe reconhecimento internacional à Jahmek Contemporary Art, consolidando a sua reputação como um importante agente no cenário da arte contemporânea africana, através da participação em grandes eventos, incluindo a Venice Biennale 2024, Art Basel 2022, Art Dubai 2022 e ARCOmadrid 2021, entre outros.

Mehak Verma Vieira is the Director and Founder of Jahmek Contemporary Art, a dynamic platform that fosters a critical and thought-provoking dialogue on artistic and visual expression in Angola. Established in Luanda, Jahmek was founded in 2012 with the vision of strengthening Angola’s artistic infrastructure for the next generation. Over the past five years, she has worked with both emerging and established artists connected to Angola, developing an ambitious programme of exhibitions, events, art fair participations, and other initiatives. Under her leadership, Jahmek Contemporary Art has gained international recognition, establishing itself as a significant force in the African contemporary art scene through its participation in major international events, including the 2024 Venice Biennale, Art Basel 2022, Art Dubai 2022, and ARCOmadrid 2021, among others.
