Pastoral Care and Chaplaincies
University Pastoral Care
University Pastoral Care is that ecclesial activity that offers members of the university community the opportunity to coordinate academic study, and related academic activities, with religious and moral principles, thus integrating life with faith in Christ in a journey of sanctification.
University Pastoral Care is an activity of the university as such, in the totality and completeness of its components, and not only of a part, however qualified; much less only of a few "qualified persons - priests, religious men and women, and lay people - who also must be appointed in sufficient numbers to provide for the specific pastoral care in favor of the university community, to be carried out in harmony and collaboration with the pastoral care of the particular Church under the guidance or approval of the diocesan bishop" (Apost. Const. Ex corde Ecclesiae, 6.2)
