Fundación Hermes: digital rights for online citizenship
interventions ‒ 12 June 2026
Since its establishment in 2016, the Hermes Foundation has promoted public debate, legal reflection, public-private collaboration and social awareness-raising on issues relating to digital rights, artificial intelligence, privacy, cybersecurity, digital identity and the impact of technology on democracy.
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Foundation organised a plenary session featuring a technical presentation by Msgr. Carlo Maria Polvani, Secretary of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, who engaged in a direct dialogue with the Foundation’s members on the Catholic Church’s stance towards technological progress and on the impact of artificial intelligence on education and culture.
