On the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, June 29, 2026, the Dicastery for Culture and Education erected St. Paul’s Faculty of Theology, Tiruchirappalli, India with the decree (Prot. N. 04610/2026 - 606/2026).

On this occasion Most. Rev. Antonysamy Savarimuthu, Chancellor of St. Paul’s Faculty of Theology (Archibishop of Madurai) was received by His Excellency Archbishop Carlo Maria Polvani, Secretary of the Dicastery, accompanied by Fr. Arogya Hrudaya Raju Pudhota SCJ, Official of the Dicastery for Asia and Oceania. Msgr Polvani officially hand overthe documents of erection of the new Faculty.
