Visual Poetry Art Exhibition

events ‒ 18 Feb 2025  - 20 Jun 2025

The Global Visual Poetry exhibition is designed to highlight the transnational character of Visual Poetry, one of the most incisive artistic currents of the second half of the twentieth century, which has been able to take up the legacy of the early avant-garde movements to open up, from its inception, to dialogue between different cultures and countries. Overcoming geographic and identity barriers, Visual Poetry has promoted an inclusive and socially engaged art, from the perspective that Pope Francis would today call “a desire for brotherhood.”

With more than two hundred works, the exhibition offers a cross-sectional look at the research of exponents linked to the different verbo-visual experimentations that have emerged, on a global scale, since World War II: from Concrete Poetry to Visual Poetry, from Object Poetry to New Writing. The exhibition aims to highlight the affinity and poetic coherence of artists and artists active in this current, united by a utopian vision and a feeling of hope.
