On the 4th of February 2026, on the occasion of International Human Fraternity Day, the Zayed Award, established in 2019 and now in its seventh edition, was presented. It is named after the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and benefits from the support of Pope Leo XIV.

The winners were Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, representing the Republic of Armenia, and Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in recognition of the efforts made by the two Caucasian countries, which have been in conflict for over four decades, and to promote the importance of dialogue as a tool for peace and the values of solidarity and hope. Alongside them, the award was also received by Zarqa Yaftali for her commendable commitment to protecting the right to education of Afghan women and children, and by the non-profit organisation Taawon for the humanitarian and solidarity work it carries out every day for Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon.
